약과 Yakgwa

Indulgence of royals

Yakgwa were made for Kings and Queens of Joseon. They were, and still are, are a quintessential component of traditional feasts and celebrations.

"Yak" means medicinal, and "gwa" are foods with sweetness, an indulgence. Yakgwa were christened for their health benefits with the use of immunity boosting ingredients such as ginger, honey, daechu.

We curated an artisan whose craft descends from the last head of the royal kitchen of Joseon and the Empire of Korea, 한희순 Han Hui-sun.

And now, we warmly share the heritage and experience with you.
